Greedy Lying Bastards 2013

Storyline:

Hurricane Sandy. Wildfires in the West. "Brown-Outs" in the East. Farmers losing crops to the worst drought since the Dust Bowl. Climate change is no longer a prediction for the future, but a startling reality of today. Yet, as evidence of our changing climate mounts and the scientific consensus proves human causation, there continues to be no political action to thwart the warming of our planet. “Greedy Lying Bastards” investigates the reason behind stalled efforts to tackle climate change despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a reality but also a growing problem placing us on the brink of disaster. The film details the people and organizations casting doubt on climate science and claims that greenhouse gases are not affected by human behavior. From the Koch Brothers to ExxonMobil, to prominent Senators and Justices, this provocative exposé unravels the layers of deceit threatening U.S. democracy.

Scary movie 5!

Scary Movie 5 theatrical release date April 12, 2013.

The About face: Scary Movie 5 is the fifth in the Scream movie spoof big screen franchise.
The Wild side: The trailer for future Razzi Award winner Scary Movie 5 is finally here and it features the scene we've all been waiting for. Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen's "nasty scene." Train wreck of a mess, has-been who-never-was actress, (and we use the term actress very lightly), Lindsay Lohan, was afraid of catching a disease from Sheen's mouth.
In the trailer, Lindsay shrieks while Charlie is being attacked by a ghost, but a quick cut away to a TV shows that her probation was overturned. According to sources, Miss Lindsay believed that the TV would be showing a clip from her 2005 flop Herbie Fully Loaded. This would have been the first TV in the world to screen Herbie Fully Loaded, so this was a big deal for her.
Our sources also say that Lindsay signed onto the film with the privilege of having final approval on jokes about her. (Who the fuck in their right mind would give that creature that much power?) This edit in the movie may be cause for Miss Blowhard to launch a breach of contract lawsuit against the producers of Scary Movie 5. Watch the trailer below, and judge for yourself.
The Movie facts: Scary Movie 5 was 5 years in the making. The film's original target release date, October 11, 2008, never happened.

STARRING: Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Molly Shannon, Chris Elliot, Jerry O'Connell, Ashley Tisdale, Terry Crews
DIRECTOR: Malcolm D. Lee
STUDIO: The Weinstein Co.
RATING: PG-13 (Language, drug use, cartoon violence, crude humor)

Mental!

Mental release date March 29, 2013

The About face: A charismatic, crazy hothead transforms a family's life when she becomes the nanny of five girls.

The Wild side: The Moochmore girls are certain they all suffer from some kind of undiagnosed mental illness - because if they’re not crazy then they’re just unpopular. Their mother Shirley (Rebecca Gibney), unable to cope with her demanding daughters and unsupported by her philandering politician husband, Barry (Anthony LaPaglia), suffers a nervous breakdown. After Barry commits his wife to a mental hospital (telling his constituents that “she’s on holiday”) he finds himself alone with five teenage girls he barely knows. Desperate, he impulsively picks up a hitchhiker named Shaz (Toni Collette) and installs her in his home as nanny to his daughters.
The Movie facts: How far both multi-Oscar nominee Toni Collette and My Best Friend's Wedding and Muriel's Wedding director, P. J. Hogan, have fallen.
Mental makes its debut on Video On Demand and in theaters the same day, a sure sign of a movie box office stinkeroo.

Cast: Toni Collette, Anthony LaPaglia, Liev Schreiber
Director: PJ Hogan
Movie Rating: TBD
Studio: Dada Films

The Place beyond the pines!

The Place Beyond The Pines theatrical release date March 29, 2013.

The About face: Another movie collaboration between Ryan Gosling and the director of Blue Valentine.
A motorcycle stunt rider (Ryan Gosling) considers committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child, an act that puts him on a collision course with a cop-turned-politician.
The Wild side: Luke (Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling) is in constant motion, a high-wire motorcycle stunt performer who travels from town to town with the carnival. Passing through Schenectady in upstate New York, he tries to reconnect with a former lover, Romina (Eva Mendes), only to learn that she has in his absence given birth to their son Jason. Luke resolves to forsake life on the road and to provide for his newfound family, taking a job as car mechanic with Robin (Ben Mendelsohn). Robin soon discovers Luke’s special talents, and proposes to partner with him in a string of spectacular bank robberies. But it is only a matter of time before Luke will run up against the law – which comes in the form of Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper).
Avery is an ambitious rookie cop navigating a local police department ruled by the menacingly corrupt detective Deluca (Ray Liotta). When Avery, just beginning to balance his profession and his family life with wife Jennifer (Rose Byrne) and their infant son AJ, confronts Luke, the full consequences will reverberate into the next generation. It is then that the two sons, Jason (Dane DeHaan) and AJ (Emory Cohen), must face their fateful, shared legacy.
The Movie facts: The movie The Place Beyond The Pines, starring Ryan Gosling, seems a little to similar in plot to his movie Drive.

STARRING: Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Dane DeHaan, Rose Byrne, Eva Mendes, Ray Liotta
DIRECTED BY: Derek Cianfrance
STUDIO: Focus Features
RATING: R (For nudity, violence, sexual situations, language)

The Host!

The Host release date March 29, 2013.

The About face: The first non-Twilight movie based on a Stephenie Meyer novel.

The Wild side: In the movie The Host, from Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, the world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining wild humans is captured, she is certain it is her end.

Wanderer, the invading soul who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

The Movie facts: The final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, arrived in movie theaters November 16, 2012.

The Host may become a success because; it is based on a novel from Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer, and from the same director as Gattaca, and stars Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan (try to pronounce that if you're not Irish.

The Host may be a box office bomb because; it is not a movie about vampires, it is from the same director as the box office bombs Lord Of War and S1m0ne, and from the movie studio Open Road, which has yet to produce a box office hit.

STARRING: Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, William Hurt, Diane Kruger, Frances Fisher
DIRECTED BY: Andrew Niccol
STUDIO: Open Road Films
RATING: PG-13 (For violence, sexual situations, language)

The Sapphires!

The Sapphires release date March 22, 2013

The About face: It's 1968, and four young, talented Australian Aboriginal girls learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group The Sapphires entertain the US troops in Vietnam.
The Movie facts: 1968 was the year that changed the world. And for four young Aboriginal sisters from a remote mission this is the year that would change their lives forever. Around the globe, there was protest and revolution in the streets. Indigenous Australians finally secured the right to vote. There were drugs and the shock of a brutal assassination. And there was Vietnam. The sisters, Cynthia, Gail, Julie and Kay are discovered by Dave, a talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. Billed as Australia's answer to 'The Supremes', Dave secures the sisters their first true gig, and flies them to Vietnam to sing for the American troops.
The Wild side: Based on a true story. But unlikely to make any money at the U.S. movie box office.

STARRING: Chris O'Dowd, Deborah Mailman, Jessica Mauboy
DIRECTED BY: Wayne Blair
STUDIO: The Weinstein Co.
RATING: PG-13 (For adult situations, violence, language)

In appropriate comedy

InAPPropriate Comedy theatrical release date March 22, 2013.

The About face: God bless them, every one. Lindsay Lohan and has-been-who-never-was a movie star Rob Schnieder, and Best Actor Oscar winner Adrien Brody (who proves the point that winning a Best Actor Oscar means nothing for your career as a serious actor), still get paid to be in movies, albeit movies so bad that most people wouldn't even take a free copy of the DVD if offered.
The Wild side: A computer tablet full of the world's most offensive apps breaks through the borders of political correctness, stirring up cultural anarchy. The no-holds-barred (horrible) comedy makes sure no taboo is left untouched!
"Go ahead. Make Me Gay," is just one of the unfunny lines comes out of the mouth of Adrien Brody in the R-rated trailer, which you can watch below. Really? Are you fucking serious? So fucking not funny.
The Movie facts: Let's say it right now. InAPPropriate Comedy will become one of the biggest theatrical release bombs of the past 10 years.
Poor Susan Jackson, who owns the studio releasing this piece of shit, Freestyle Releasing. Apparently she will never become a major player in Hollywood, while continuing to put out movies like this.

STARRING: Rob Schneider, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodrigues, Adrien Brody
DIRECTED BY: Vince Offer
STUDIO: Freestyle Releasing
RATING: R (For vulgar language, nudity)

The Call!

The Call release Marc 15, 2013

The About face: Originally entitled The Hive.
The Wild side: In order to save a young girl's life, an L.A.P.D 911 emergency operator must confront a killer from her past.
The Movie facts: Winning an Oscar does not necessarily mean retaining A-list status as an actress. You're only as good as your last movie. And The Call does not look like a winner. More like a made for Lifetime Television movie of the week.

STARRING: Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin, Michael Imperioli, Morris Chestnut
DIRECTED BY: Brad Anderson
STUDIO: Columbia Pictures
RATING: PG-13 (For violence, language, adult themes)

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone!

Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there's still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act - both onstage and off - if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

The situation becomes even more complicated when Grug's family - but in particular his eldest daughter - become smitten with a nomad (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) they encounter on their dangerous journey. STARRING: Tommy Lee Jones, Matthew Fox

DIRECTED BY: Peter Webber

STUDIO: Roadside Attractions
RATING: PG-13 (For violence, language, adult themes)

Emperor Official Website: www.emperor-themovie.com

DVD release date: TBD

The Wild side: A gripping tale of love and honor forged between fierce enemies of war, the movie Emperor tells the story, inspired by true events, of the bold and secret moves that won the peace in the shadows of post-war Japan. Starring Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones, Matthew Fox, and newcomer Eriko Hatsune, Emperor brings to life the American occupation of Japan in the perilous and unpredictable days just after Emperor Hirohito's World War II surrender. As General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) suddenly finds himself the de facto ruler of a foreign nation, he assigns an expert in Japanese culture - General Bonner Fellers (Matthew Fox), to covertly investigate the looming question hanging over the country: should the Japanese Emperor, worshiped by his people but accused of war crimes, be punished or saved?
The Movie facts: Poor Matthew Fox. He keeps plugging along. And studios keep hiring him even though he is untalented and has about as much charisma as a dead tadpole. This, Emperor, should be the final nail in his acting coffin, as it is going to be a huge box office bomb.
Tommy Lee Jones couldn't care less that Emperor will bomb. He continues to collect Oscar nominations, stars in AIG television commercials and can brag that he was the college roommate of Al Gore, all while in the throes of old age.

THE SILENCE!

The Silence release date March 8, 2013

The About face: 13-year-old Sinikka vanishes on a hot summer night. Her bicycle is found in the exact
place where a girl was killed 23 years ago. The dramatic present forces those involved in the original case to face their past.
The Wild side: The Silence begins 23 years ago on a hot summer day, when a girl named Pia is brutally murdered in a field of wheat by Peer, as his helpless friend Timo watches. Now, in the present day, on the exact same date, 13-year-old Sinikka is missing, her bicycle abandoned in the same spot, leading police to suspect the same killer may be at work again. Recently widowed detective David and his colleague Janna struggle to solve the mystery of these parallel crimes with the help of Krischan, the retired investigator of the unresolved case. While Sinikka’s distraught parents are trapped in an agonizing period of waiting and uncertainty, their daughter’s fate rips open unhealed wounds in the heart of Pia’s mother and sends Timo in search of Peer and their own old desires.
The Movie facts: If the nasty bitch and evil queen who run Music Box Films changed their attitudes, their Karma may also change, and their movies would probably do better at the box office and on Home Video.

STARRING: Ulrich Thomsen, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Sebastian Blomberg, Katrin Sass, Burghart Klaussner
DIRECTED BY: Baran bo Odar
STUDIO: Music Box Films
RATING: Not Rated (Nudity, violence, language, adult themes)
